Something NEW

GUYS!!!!

I attempted my first Fish Lips Kiss Heel this week...it still needs some work, but it was definitely exciting to try something very different from how I normally work sock heels. I've always done a heel flap and gusset on both my top down socks and my toe-up ones.
FLK was definitely different and I loved not having to pick up stitches!
In the future, I'd like to see if there was a way to incorporate slipped stitches because I love how that reinforces the heel. I'd also like to try it out on a pair of socks for me so I can see if I like it or not!

    Fun! I haven't tried the Fish Lips Kiss heel...I'm a heel flap girl :) I did do one modified heel flap using Lara Neel's Sock Architecture book, the Balbriggan heel? Interesting but I haven't finished the second one so I don't know how it will wear...exciting to see something new!

      I wish my local library actually had a knitting section like my old one did...I would love to check out a copy of that book before ordering it because I've heard lots of good things about it!
      Yay for doing something different...it's a little daunting at first, but working those brain muscles is a good thing!

    Look at you with your new technique trying! Fancy pants! I am with you, a fan of the slipped stitch reinforced heel for sure. I love the colorway this is in. The yarn looks so soft!
