Two WIPs this week and two FOs for Friday :) It's been a great week so far and it isn't nearly over!

EKP Baby Blanket
Getting to the end of time for ya'll to see this blanket which turned out way bigger than I had originally intended. I love giving bigger than baby blankets so I'm pretty stoked out. You're just gonna have to wait for me to finish though to see how big it actually ended up :)

Business Casual
I love these. Got another half repeat in and all I can say is that I'm going to be so stoked to put these socks on…this is still sock number 1 and I'm in no rush. They're a nice in between finishing things project…they just make me soooo happy!

Here's to a pretty rocking week :) And of course, the weekly Ginny linkup

Drool...

I wish y'all could feel this because I am pretty sure it is some of the softest merino I have ever been lucky to touch…and even better cuz it's mine, mine, mine and dyed up so beautiful by the wonderful people at Never Enough Thyme in Maine. It is sparkly and just so awesome. I was originally planning some BA socks…but yarn this soft and amazing is just crying out to be some sort of shawl, I think...

1 Week...

…of straight-up monogamous knitting. It's been interesting, but I'm not sure I'll be doing it again anytime soon…especially since I don't have an FO to show, just a nearly-finished (maybe?) WIP! Nevertheless, here we go on a most exciting WIP Wednesday post…

Halloween Snakes
The benefit of monogamous knitting is that I made some decent headway into these socks even as I was off galavanting for most of the week. Started from the toe and have finished both heels and am working my way up the leg. Still have a decent amount of yarn left so I should be able to have a nice leg and still have yarn leftover for a puff or two :)

Since I don't have many knitting photos this week I figured I'd give y'all a bonus pic of my number 1 co-pilot! :)
Yes, she really is the flipping cute about being in a non-moving car :) And no, not wearing a seatbelt,. just her fancy-fancy hardcore harness.

That's all I've got for ya today! Linking up with Ginny.

Presents...

One for a birthday and one for Christmas (yes, I know Fridays are for FOs…these were done before then, I was just busy all day Friday and Saturday since my sister is home)

This owl coffee cozy is going to a friend for her October birthday. The pattern recommended goggly eyes or buttons, but I had quite a bit of fun with puffy paint (glittery purple!). Hoping the birthday girl likes it as much as I do!

This pair of Socks on a Plane is done! These are the first Christmas present for the 2014 season that are done…here's to a bunch more coming out in the next few weeks!

Happy Sunday! Hope y'all are enjoying your weekend.

P. to the S. I've been thoroughly enjoying and living vicariously through all the Rhinebeck photos so keep 'em coming!

I Have Done Stuff!

I was also off galavanting yesterday…so I took pictures but never ended up posting. Whatever, you still get a nice dose of in-progress knitting today and FOs tomorrow :)

EKP Baby Blanket
All the stitches fit on the cable! I think I have roughly 13 more stripes to do, but I am not 100% sure. I'll finish before the end of the month so you are almost done seeing it!

Oh So Sparkly
I am really liking this and I can't wait to soak it and block it. Only 19 grams left in the skein so I am feeling very accomplished!

Halloween Snakes
Something new! And for me! It's very exciting! These are going to be my Halloween Socks…they are the lovely Socks on a Plane by Laura Linneman in Tricks and Treats in Brit Sock by Nomadic Yarns. So lots of awesomeness going on!

That's all for today. See you tomorrow for not 1, but 2 FOs! Linking up with Ginny :)

Spoiled

And pretty lucky, too.

Ran out to Michael's to pick up an extra skein to finish the EKP blanket; so lucky it is nearby and open late. And the yarn I needed was on sale so an extra score for me!

A Bag of Yarn

Pulled from stash to become Christmas knits! I figured it might be a good idea to have everything in one place so I can start to figure out what I still need yarn-wise…next step is to figure out all the patterns!

Happy Sunday!

Blarg...

Sometimes, twisted rib is very, very slow…
In exciting news, I am almost done with the purple socks!

Last but not least, one of my favorite pictures of Hailey. It's almost 6 months old…but she still sometimes makes that face when we walk! Happy Saturday!

Merrier!

Kim over at handeyecraftstwo.blogspot.com is getting ready to host a Tis the Season swap! More details will be up later this week but thought I would let you all know! I am looking forward to it! :)

Kim is just super awesome (she does the Knitter's Hunk/Chick contest which is super fun) and she makes really cool things. Go check her out if you haven't before…and maybe I'll be your swap partner!

It's Still Wednesday...

Roadtrip was not as successful as I hoped, though I did get some good information so there's a positive. I also managed to get to 1 of the yarn shops (got a beautiful skein of Cascade Heritage and 2 different flavors of Soak). I also had a beautiful skein of sock yarn delivered from HauteKnitYarn in North Carolina; it was only ordered on Sunday so I was super shocked to see it today! Pictures of goodies will come tomorrow because let's face-it, nothing can (or should!) compete with WIPs on Wednesday :) Some interesting shots this week-old projects here so I gotta mix it up somehow!

Oh So Sparkly!
As modeled by one of my favorite stuffs, Rusty. How do I know I've made progress? The last time i weighed the skein it was 34 grams, now it's done to 28! Hip, hip hooray!

Fall Leaves
Crafty Selfie from the Soak Wash Challenge. I seriously cannot wait to finish this and wear it for real!

Socks on a Plane
Less than 70 rows (and a bind-off!) till I am done! That is a most excellent feeling :)

EKP Baby Blanket
An action shot…and I figured I'd throw it at the end just to fool y'all a bit :)

Happy Wednesday! Linking up with the one and only Ginny!

Bootstraps...

…I'm pulling myself up on them! Lots of knitting this weekend was good for my soul. Something else that was great was going to a new knit group! Unfortunately, there are not a lot of knit groups in my area. I've been stalking this one on Ravelry (that meets at 9:00 am on Sunday morning…YIKES!). Finally convinced myself to just get-up and go…and had a total blast! Everyone was super friendly and working on completely different projects. It was awesome and I will definitely be returning.

It's looking like I have to take a little-road trip on Wednesday so idk what will happen with the WIP post. There are two yarn shops along the way though that look quite promising so some more beautiful bounty may soon be entering my life. :)

And of course, a certain Hailey being a snuggly goober. She really is a love. Happy Monday!

2M 3W...

…till Christmas. just ya, know, an ever present reminder that its coming!!

Today's FO however, is not an X-mas present but something for me! :)

They're warm, they're awesome and I am so happy to have them off my needles! And now back to lots and lots of Christmas knitting! And maybe finishing the stripy blanket since the baby is due in November! Happy Friday everybody!

On Being an Adult...

It's probably too soon to be writing about this, but hey, this is my own blog so I get to write about whatever I want. FO Friday is still on for tomorrow so I imagine I'll see most of you there. Thanks for sticking with me through all of my crazy.

The BF and I broke-up today. Seeing as how we're both 20 somethings we did it how we do most things…via text. I was the one who initiated it…but I think we both saw it come and I think we were both as ready for it as we can be. It just kinda sucks because he's a really great guy, I really liked him and we had a lot of fun together. I have lots of happy memories of our relationship. At the end of the day though, we just weren't right for each other on some fundamental levels and it wasn't going to end up a happily ever after. I don't believe in prolonging the inevitable…and here's hoping we can both find our fairytales.

In the days to come there will be wallowing, there will be ice cream, there will be lots of Gilmore Girls. There won't however (I think) be many regrets. I'm glad we ended when we did…without letting it get to a point where we hated each other.

A few good points though: I learned I need someone who wants to hear from me on a more than daily basis. I need someone who is willing to open their world to me and happily introduce me to their family and friends. I need someone who likes meeting other people. I love being spontaneous, but I do crave some stability as well.

Also, I have even better motivation to get own with my life and out on my own. It is definitely past the time and now I'm not concerned about sparing his feelings in the process.

And I have one less person to knit for Christmas...

Knitting, Knitting Everywhere!

The Soak Photo Challenge ended yesterday. I really enjoyed the prompts and looking through everyone's photos-so much beautiful knitting! I'm not a quilter so I won't be participating in their October challenge but I hope they do another yarn one for November or December :)

I really wanted to cast-on my Halloween Socks on a Plane today…I haven't yet because I am really trying to WIP bust. However, Gilmore Girls just came to Netflix and I really want to watch that (even though I have a bazillion Hulu shows, knitting podcasts and other things on Netflix…). I am contemplating watching one episode every day and only working on my Halloween socks while I watch (and not working on them any other time). I'm not 100% positive, but the more time I spend thinking about it- the more I like it…you'll just have to wait and see next week what I decide!

Now that I've prated on-let's get to the good stuff, eh? To the WIP list!

EKP Baby Blanket
I know, I know-you're all still in shock to see this. Am I really working on this or do I just keep taking pictures in different locations so it looks like I've made progress? Fact: I have less than 20 stripes to go!! Hoping to kick my butt in gear a bit and get this done before my sister comes home on the 15th. Only time will tell if I succeed…

Socks on a Plane
Multiple things going on here…this is, in fact, a picture taken at work since I had a spot of free knitting time yesterday! Woo-hoo! No idea if and/or when that is gonna happen again…but hope does lie eternal. Two-this is sock number two…which you all saw last week…before I ripped it out Friday knit because I had boo-booed and there was no way to fix it and it was bugging me! Boo-boos have been fixed and sock number 2 is on its way to be finished fairly soon…

Falling Leaves
It has been awhile since this was trotted out. Added another 10 rows to it just cause…I like it, I'm excited to block and wear it but since it's selfish knitting I feel extremely guilty working on it when I have lots of Christmas knitting to do. Also, it does require a little thought as there is a lot going on. I did however, finish the first ball of yarn I had bought for it. Less than a ball to go till bind-off time!

Not too much going on this week…except for a totally awesome FO for Friday!! :) Check back in to see what I finished…linking up with Ginny. Happy Wednesday, darlings!
